Portland Cement Zambia Case Is Finally Over With Supreme Court Judgement

In the year 2004, Zambezi Portland Cement was established. After numerous adjustments in the shareholding association, Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments was made the larger part investor and lawful proprietor of the plant. Everything was going easily until the Ventriglias chose to upset the business for their own benefit. It seems like that Ventriglias needed to take over the production line regardless of accepting the sum against the offers given to the Finsbury Investments. Thusly, exploitative and unlawful methods were picked by this mafia family. First the lawfulness of the shareholding register was addressed and afterward the Ventriglia family unscrupulously convinced the Lusaka High Court judge to give choice on their courtesy by making them the main investors of the Portland Cement Zambia manufacturing plant. It should be noted here that the Ventriglias, during that time, had critical political associations with one of the most unscrupulous characters inside the Zambian legitimate and authoritative framework. With the help of its mafia-life attorneys and political campaigning, they had the option to assume responsibility for the Portland Cement Zambia production line, upheld by the choice from the Lusaka High Court.

However, the decision from the higher Court of Appeal on 31st January 2019 effectively reversed the misdirected decision from the Lusaka High Court. Justice Mwinde from higher Court of Appeal announced Dr. Rajan Mahtani as the actual owner with 58 percent shares. More than a year after this definitive judgement, the Ventriglias again challenged the decision at the Supreme Court Zambia. However, after looking into the evidences and timeline, the judges at the Supreme Court have effectively rejected this claim.
