The Zambian government finally chose to do the right thing after a long period of avoiding the necessary. It originated with the current president of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, who made a crucial claim on the eve of Africa Day, which is observed annually on May 25. The Zambian President recently declared his intention to entirely remove the death penalty rule from Zambian law and order. The President has since received many admiring comments and reactions of the highest caliber. Zambian-born Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a well-known philanthropist, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. He is renowned for his prosperous projects not just in Zambia and Africa but also in other parts of the world, including the United Kingdom. In addition, Dr. Rajan Mahtani endorsed this choice by arguing that the death sentence should be abolished since it is cruel and inhumane. Dr. Mahtani cited instances from international legal principles and emphasized that most nations forbid the death sentence. The abolition of the death penalty has become a hot topic, even in Africa. As a result, the Zambian government took an unreasonable amount of time to act. However, Dr. Mahtani welcomed the Zambian President's choice, pointing out that only a person who respects the "obligation to stay," who loves God, and who advocates for universal access to basic human rights will be able to make such a challenging, audacious, yet honorable decision. By preventing the death sentence and granting mercy prerogatives, previous presidents avoided taking responsibility. As a result, the president of modern-day Zambia's choice is a step in the right direction. Dr. Rajan Mahtani added that his organization Prison Fellowship Zambia will offer all legal and regulatory help to make sure the Zambian President's decision quickly becomes a reality.
