Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was recently conferred with the prestigious ‘Best of Africa’ award category. Dr. Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia. Recently Dr. Mahtani was invited to the prestigious Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference 2021. It was a virtual event to comply with the social distancing and lockdown regulations as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited as a honorary speaker and spoke about the significance of leadership in Healthcare.
The Forbes-FIN business conference was made all the more popular with the inclusion of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony. The awards ceremony is for all those businessmen, visionaries and leaders across Africa who have made significant philanthropic contributions towards empowerment of the African nation. The ‘Best of Africa’ awards are counted to be extremely prestigious. The awards have been created and currently managed by Forbes, one of the top business magazines across the globe. Furthermore, the process of selecting the recipients is extremely transparent and rigorous, comprising of steps such as verification and background checks by both Forbes and FIN. It also includes several interview and discussion sessions with the potential recipients regarding their understanding of philanthropy and their importance in achieving empowerment across the nation.
Apart from being a honourable speaker, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was conferred with the Forbes ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. Dr. Mahtani received this award for redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s philanthropic and charitable contributions resulted in his international recognition after many decades. Some of these philanthropic contributions include Prison Fellowship Zambia as well as Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top Zambian law graduates.
