For those who have faith in their honesty, transparency and ethics, hardships have never been difficult. Despite the significant issues and challenges which Dr. Rajan Mahtani faced in the case of Portland Cement Zambia, he never gave up pursuing the factory. Working in a developing country such as Zambia is difficult as everyday businesses face corruption and unethical practices. People either try to bribe for ensuring their way in or use illegal ways such as sending goons or using political advantages to get what they want. Despite attaining huge success with his business ventures over the course of three decades, Dr. Rajan Mahtani never utilized his connections, networks or political power for his personal advantage. ortland Cement Zambia factory Dr. Rajan Mahtani straightforward approached the Lusaka High Court with his appeal. He claimed that his factory was unethically taken over from him and to support his claim, several evidences and testimonials were submitted before the court.
After this misdirected decision, people expected Dr Rajan Mahtani to lose hope considering the lack of justice, transparency and authenticity across the judiciary institutions in Zambia. However, Dr Rajan Mahtani decided to take one more chance at approached the higher Court of Appeal. Considering the fact that this court is the highest-level judiciary system in Zambia, expectations were high. And the court did not disappoint either. After nine months of transparent case proceedings, justice Mwinde on behalf of the Court of Appeal announced Dr. Rajan Mahtani as the actual owner of the factory based on the available evidences and discarded the entire decision from the Lusaka High Court.
