The Foreign Investment Network (FIN) along with Forbes recently conducted their annual philanthropic and leadership roundtable conference on 6th August 2021. It is one of the most important annual events in Africa which not only includes national and international personalities talking about the need for leadership practices and philanthropic contributions towards African development, but is also a platform where business personalities from different fields are bestowed with the prestigious ‘Best of Africa’ award for their contributions.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is one of the most experienced, celebrated and respected businessman in Zambia. He was invited to this round table conference as a honorary speaker which was held online due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. While the annual event generally takes place at New York during UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) Conference, this year the pandemic forced the leaders to take part in the event from their own locations.
Apart from the critical roundtable conference which highlights the need for leadership and philanthropic contributions across Africa, the event was also a platform for recognising the business personalities who have created and built domestic and international businesses as well as made positive and far-reaching contributions towards development of African nation. This recognition was in the form of the prestigious ‘Best of Africa’ awards. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was bestowed with the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ 2021 award for his significant entrepreneurial ventures as well as business contributions that not only helped in improving the Zambian infrastructure and economy but also created opportunities of employment and better living conditions for the Zambian people. Despite his significant contributions, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has remained a humble and down-to-earth person and truly deserves the award and the recognition.
