Despite the significant contributions towards the Zambian economy and society, Dr. Rajan Mahtani is continuously attacked by individuals and entities, trying to defame him and his reputation with the objective of gaining direct or indirect profits. Dr. Rajan Mahtani shared a long-standing and transparent friendship with Levy Mwanawasa, late Ex-President of Zambia. This friendship went way back even before Mwanawasa became the president of Zambia. As such, the social media post shared by the daughter of Levy Mwanawasa was a complete shocker for all. In a Facebook post, Miriam Mwanawasa claimed that Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani wanted to inherit the farmland owned by the Mwanawasa family at Masaiti district. The nature of this claim was extremely controversial which resulted, the social media post starting spreading across the internet.
Dr. Rajan Mahtani responded by releasing a press statement in which he clearly stated that the Facebook post was baseless and without any proof or evidence. Dr. Mahtani also confirmed that due to the malign and ludicrous nature of the post, actions will be taken against.
