The case of Portland Cement Zambia was officially over when higher Court of Appeal judge Mwinde reversed the decision from the Lusaka High Court and announced that Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments is the majority shareholder and legal owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory. However, it was unnecessarily dragged by the Ventriglia family who approached the Supreme Court Zambia, the highest legal court in Zambia. In their appeal, the Ventriglias claimed that the decision from the higher Court of Appeal was wrong and they were not the majority shareholder of the factory. Furthermore, claim also included amount against majority shares. While the higher Court of Appeal gave the verdict that the amount against majority shares was K580,000, the Ventriglia family claimed that this amount was K580 million. After taking the case to Supreme Court Zambia, it was evaluated by a bench of three SC judges who came to the conclusion that the claim by the Ventriglia family holds no ground. As a result, it was rejected by the Supreme Court
Notwithstanding, it has been revealed that the family has even dismissed this decision from the most noteworthy legal executive arrangement of Zambia.
