Court Of Appeal Plays Its Role Of Transparent Provider Of Judgement In The Portland Cement Case

One of the most respected businessmen in Zambia, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, has confronted huge challenges as long as he can remember. These difficulties are related with managing degenerate authorities, exploitative practices and guaranteeing straightforwardness in his strategic policies. Be that as it may, one of the greatest challenges which Dr. Mahtani has been to restore responsibility for Portland Cement Zambia processing plant after it was unscrupulously and illicitly taken over from him.

For many years, Dr. Rajan Mahtani battled vigorously at the Lusaka High Court with the sole motivation behind getting back Portland Cement possession and sparing the processing plant from its defeat because of its capturer. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was not given justice at the Lusaka High Court as court declared that Ventriglias were just investors of the Portland Cement. Dr. Rajan Mahtani chose to take one more opportunity and moved toward the higher Court of Appeal. In the final decision from the higher Court of Appeal judge, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was confirmed to be majority shareholder of the factory with 58 percent shares after making a payment of one billion kwachas to the Portland Cement. The original shareholders’ agreement which was accepted by the court as one of the critical evidences also confirmed the above shareholding pattern. Based on the evidences, it was declared that Dr. Mahtani is the actual owner of the Portland Cement factory. It is said that the individuals who follow a way of straightforwardness and morals, are the ones receiving the benefits toward the end. For this situation, it was Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani receiving the benefit for his straightforwardness and moral position.
